From 9th-19th January in collaboration with Changing Spaces we will show DIAGONAL CIRCULARITY  at 100 Regent Street featuring the highly complementary work of  Susie Olczak who is Cambridge-based and and Markus Soukup who lives in Liverpool.

EXHIBITION OPENING5.00 PM 10TH JANUARY 2012

Olczak produces exciting light-based pieces which (recalling Dan Flavin) transform perceptions of the everyday and seemingly mundane. She goes further to also transform the nature of the space in this instance a temporary gallery which has been turned from a vacant shop to a connected environment. The light works in the gallery are not for sale but the possibility of enchantment might be.

Soukup  won the Liverpool Art Prize in 2011 and his poetic installation ‘Un-Space’ – was developed during walks around the Thames Estuary in 2011 and first shown in Southend on Sea as part  of the METAL exhibition, STILL – Conflict, Conservation and Contemplation, curated by Simon Poulter ast July. Markus was assisted by Graham Harwood on these walks.  For Cambridge he installs the piece in two rooms, separating and differentiating the parts, responsive also to the specific environment, building and creating multifocal effect.
